Earlscliffe is a small school with a limited number of places so we advise students to apply as early as possible, ideally by February for September entry.
Once an initial enquiry has been made, you will be contacted by a member of the Earlscliffe admissions team, who will talk you through the admission process and will support you at each step of your application journey.
Application process:
- Complete our application form
- Submit the most recent two years’ school reports
- Submit a passport copy
- Complete our English and mathematics entrance tests
- Complete and interview in person or via Zoom
- Choose subject options
English language proficiency (overseas students)
Earlscliffe must be satisfied that an international student has the required level of English language skill for academic studies at GCSE, A-Level, Business Diploma or University Foundation Year. If students have not already taken an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) test or Cambridge exam, they must take an English test either at Earlscliffe, their own school or a partner counsellor’s office.
To access our A-level programme, a student should be capable of B1 (IELTS 5.0). If students do not reach this level, we may recommend that extra English language tuition, or look at our preparation programme which we call our International Transition Year.
Academic scholarships
There are a limited number of academic scholarships available at Earlscliffe and our Admissions team are always happy to chat to students and families about the requirements.
Visits and school tours
Please contact us to request a tour of our school. You may view an aerial tour of the entire in-town campus by visiting our location page.
Visitors and their families will be invited to meet with our Head Teacher, Mr Joss Williams, and walk around our teaching buildings, boarding houses and surroundings. We also offer students and their families the opportunity to have a drive around the town and the local area to enable them to get a true sense of what life is like here, and visitors love to see our beautiful coastline which is a 5-minute walk from Earlscliffe.
If students have specific requests for meetings with certain subject teachers, or to see specific facilities e.g. sports or creative arts, we are always happy to arrange these. We will also ensure that visiting students have the chance to meet and chat with some of our current students.
