How will my child get from and to the airport?Open Close
We offer a group pick-up and check-in service included in our weekly cost for flights/trains arriving and departing London Heathrow, London Gatwick or Ashford Eurostar station between 9am-4pm. Out-of-hours transfers can be arranged (see Course fees and dates).
How far is it to London and its airports?Open Close
On average each centre is about 90 minutes from London Heathrow, 75 minutes from London Gatwick . We are just 54 minutes from London by train. Ashford International Station is 15 minutes drive away.
Can I book more than one course?Open Close
Yes, you can book any combination of courses i.e. 2 weeks of Global English followed by 2 weeks Mini-MBA or 2 weeks Mini-MBA followed by 2 weeks Uni-prep etc At Easter we only offer the General English plus multi-activities course.
Where do students stay?Open Close
All our courses are fully residential. All rooms are en-suite. Boys and girls are always housed separately and each house is supervised.
What is in my room?Open Close
A bed, a bedside table, a wardrobe to store your clothes, a desk, a chair and an en-suite bathroom with WC, wash basin and shower.
Who do I share a room with?Open Close
We have single, twin and triple rooms. We always room students with someone of a similar age, but different native language. If you have a specific rooming request, e.g. two friends who would like to share or if you want a single room (limited availability and for an additional fee), this must be stated clearly on the Booking Form.
Who looks after me in the house?Open Close
Our residential staff will supervise your stay with us in your house.
Is there free Wi-Fi on campus?Open Close
Yes, all our buildings have Wi-Fi throughout but ‘phones are not allowed in class unless they are needed for project work. Student Wi-Fi is available from 06.00 to 12 midnight.
Do I get free time?Open Close
We run a busy programme which includes some free time each day, yes.
What does my child need to bring with them?Open Close
Pack your child’s bag as you would for a northern European summer holiday. Bring warmer clothing for Easter. Please include towels for swimming and normal use. Bed linen is provided.
Mini-MBA and Uni-Prep students should bring laptops.
What is included in the cost?Open Close
The weekly course fee covers all accommodation, meals, tuition, all general sports, activities and events, trips, Wi-Fi, weekly laundry service, return transfers (on scheduled days and times), Earlscliffe water bottle, t-shirt and travel insurance.
Are there any extra costs?Open Close
No, only if you choose to take any of the extra options, such as small group lessons, 1:1 English tuition, paintball, ‘The Lion King’ musical or the Harry Potter Studios tour.
How many meals are included?Open Close
Breakfast, lunch and supper are taken in the dining hall every day. Morning and afternoon drinks and snacks are served at break times. Students are given packed meals on day trips. We should be informed of any special dietary needs prior to arrival.
Is there a laundry service?Open Close
Student laundry is done once a week.Bedding is provided but please bring your own towels.
How can I send pocket money?Open Close
We give out pocket money twice a week at ‘Student Bank’ times. Pocket money can be sent with your child to be handed in for safe-keeping on arrival, along with passports and tickets. We can receive pocket money by bank transfer or by Flywire.
